Health/Physical Education

My sophomore year in Personal Fitness we were assigned the only and biggest project of the trimester, a six week training program. We were told to base the program on if you were an in or out of season athlete, or if you were a non-athlete. The program also had to be based on what kinds of muscles you needed to train. It was a long process to create the program and required a lot of detail.

I, personally, am not one for taking gym classes so it really was a challenge for me to do well on this assignment but I wanted to prove that I could do it even though I did not know much about training. I worked tirelessly on the assignment making sure to get every detail down and needless to say, I was very proud of the finished product. By the time it was due I was confident in my work and my teacher, Mr. Resor, even asked if he could keep a copy of it to use as an example because he was so proud of my work as well.

This training program really showed me that through hard work and dedication, you can succeed no matter how much you initially know about a topic. In the Journalism field, this can be a very useful asset as I will not always be writing about subjects I know a whole lot about. I am going to have to buckle down and be dedicated in order to come up with a piece or an article that I am proud of. In my personal life, as well, this will help me as it taught me to work hard and you will succeed and people will be proud of you for even just that alone.
